Sailing alone has something indescribable which I can only attempt to bring up…
Strong wind and big choppy waves trying to disturb your inner peace and concentration. The fear often seems to be a product of our ego. The same, still raw, dose of adrenaline should result in super-human state of being rather than panic, for our own safety. Alone out there, is where you can see how pointless is to get lost in thoughts or paranoia. I also notice that the fear itself has less soil to grow if there is nobody around to receive it, and nobody to feel responsible for. Just you and the boat, here and now.
