266 NM – First Mate
32 ft Sailing Yacht
Swinoujscie (Poland) – Bornholm – Christianso (islands of Denmark) – Wladyslawowo – Gdansk (Poland)
Adventurous trip with young Polish skipper M. Opajdowski who was to move a boat with cancelled charter arrangements having all the originally prebooked time available for some cruising. I got there with my good friend randomly via some contacts of my father who also is a sailor.
Starting from North-West corner of Poland – Swinoujscie to Danish islands: Bornholm (marina in Allinge) and Christianso and back SE running a Force 8-9 storm to sheltered harbour in Wladyslawowo to wait for conditions for a final passage to Gdynia in Poland.
Good lesson to remember as the skipper was not very experienced at the time and I did feel to keep an eye on everything for the safety of the boat and obviously the crew. Neither will I forget the taste of tea with pesto-flavoured milk…
