Beneteau Cyclades 43.3
2007 / Monohull / 13.25 m
Palmeira, Island of Sal, Cabo Verde – La Palma – Tenerife 1000 nm, December 2016
The long period of strong 25-45 kn of wind and tight schedule left just two of us with no other choice than a rough but very fast passage up north. All the crossing was basically one week-lasting tack, directly to La Palma. After a short overnight rest we sailed to Tenerife along it’s northern coast. The boat had very worn off batteries so we decided to give up on constante sound of engine and kept the boat on course either by hand steering or trimming the sails while on a wheel fixed on straight course. Tough, short handed and wet, but a beautiful passage together with my best crew at the time – Mahoney.
